The clothing’s impact today has shifted from the big silver screen to the OTT platforms from being minimal to fashion enthusiasts devouring their favorite character’s costume designs. The TV drama is now the go-to to view and admire the work of the costume designers. The pieces of art created, act like another character in the web series that people love to go back to and watch and use them as fashion staples to individualize their styles in today’s society. Her style is all 70’s and boss-like with denim jumpsuits, bomber jackets, cognac boots and ringer tees. Building her retail fashion empire, she rises in success with her outfits being bold and fashionable and her business acumen learning the true market world.
Living a life worth documenting, a live-in couple explores the little things in life in this Indian television series. Showcasing the everyday outfits, the show brings to us a catalogue of daily wear that is not just casual but is chic and trendy. The plot is greatly highlighted with Rue’s casual outfits from her oversized sweatshirts to her converse sneakers; Jules’s phenomenal layering ability and Maddie’s empowering ensembles such as her daisy printed lilac dress or her strappy cut-out leg pants. Costume designer, Heidi Bivens explored around the vintage pieces for her characters and stroke the perfect balance between self-expression and nostalgic trends.
Infused with sex and female empowerment, this comedy-drama television series is a combination of vibrant throwback styles. Giving us a rebel girl dressed in fringe jackets, biker boots and fishnet; a coming of age boy in muted color palate and tonal sweats; a nerd in crazy prints and colors and a dynamic boy adorned in androgynous - pattern mashups, color block sweaters and floral trousers, this show is nothing but a fashion carousel. This print clashing, color blocking, layering suffused show leaves no character out of the spotlight no matter how dauntless or shy they are.
